Marchmont St Giles' celebrates, commemorates, and takes part in special events in the life of the Church, Community, City and Country. All are welcome at the church to celebrate with us, on occasions big and small.

The church has a variety of rooms available for hire. All rooms have great natural lighting and many rooms on the ground floor are fully accessible. Our rooms range from a capacity for 8 to seating 350 in the main church hall. We have rooms suitable for exercise classes, and halls suitable for formal events such as weddings. The café can also be hired when it is closed, providing a light and airy informal space for groups to meet in.

Marchmont St Giles’ is in the happy position of being part of an Area Guild with members drawn from the various Church of Scotland parishes nearby and presents a varied programme of events and speakers during the year.
The Guild meets on the first Tuesday of every month, September to March, at 2pm in the Craigmillar Park Church.

At present, music at Marchmont St Giles’ is largely the preserve of the Church choir and Organist, whose function is to embellish the singing during the service on Sunday mornings and at Christmas etc. Although the choir is currently quite small, averaging 15 to 20 singers on any given Sunday, it is remarkably proficient, and accomplished relative to its numbers; and comprises the full range of sopranos, altos, tenors and basses.
