Christian Aid

Blackford and Grange supports the aims of Christian Aid, founded over seventy five years ago to help refugees following the Second World War. Christian Aid has provided humanitarian relief and long-term development support for poor communities worldwide, while highlighting suffering, tackling injustice and championing people’s rights. Working in concert with other local churches Marchmont St Giles' takes part in several activities during the year to raise awareness of the issues and funds.

Richmond Craigmillar Parish Church

Richmond Craigmillar Parish Church is one of many which operates Fair Share food stalls, where local people can access a variety of food, using donations from local supermarkets, other churches like Marchmont St Giles' and individuals, and from the Cyrenians through their Fareshare community food scheme. They also offer toilet and cleaning products, nappies etc., supplied by In Kind Direct, and menstrual products provided for free through the Scottish Government's scheme. There are also many Nearly New stalls. These offer lots of good quality clothing, bedding, toys, and baby items for sale at very low cost!
