Butterflies Café

About Butterflies Café

Butterflies Café is a welcoming space that serves homemade soups, cakes, and scones, fresh sandwiches and salads, and all manner of teas and coffees. We are part of the Chatty Cafe Scheme, and the Community Café Network, relying on a team of volunteers from the Marchmont St Giles Church congregation, as well as the local community and schools. We are family friendly, with a children’s menu, an indoor play area, and for babies a free bowl of soup. We are also recognised by the NHS as a breastfeeding friendly space. We’re dog friendly too!

Butterflies Plus is a community lunch served with the aim of not only offering a hearty meal at a reasonable price, but to also help people meet up with friends and maybe make some new ones. A set menu of two courses, tea and coffee, with options to meet all dietary requirements, is served in a room adjoining the café at 12:30pm on Tuesdays. £3 for soup, £5 for the main, £4 for dessert, which is served every fourth week.

Booking ahead is essential. To book just drop in, call 0131 447 4359, or email Nicci at butterflies@marchmontstgiles.org.uk
