Karen

Minister

Karen Campbell became the Minister of Blackford and Grange Marchmont Hub in May 2002 which it was Marchmont St Giles'. She was inspired to apply for the post because she was and is excited to be part of the vision of the Congregation to be at the heart of the community, to build the Church Centre and to care for the most vulnerable people in our parish.

In 2012 she completed her Doctorate called Anamnesis, in which she looked at the way the Church and Society Remember the events of War and how we do so as we move to the future. She was the Convener of Safeguarding for the Church of Scotland, writing the Theology of Safeguarding and is currently the Convener of The Presbytery Mission Plan Implementation Group, overseeing major institutional change in the Church of Scotland.

She is passionate about her parish and is committed to caring for everyone from the cradle to the grave.

David

Session Clerk

As Session Clerk, David supports the minister and is responsible for coordinating the work of the Kirk Session as it serves the church and parish. David sings in the choir and deputises for Robert on the organ.

Jessica

Treasurer

I have been the Treasurer since 2012. The main role is to oversee the Church finances and the aim is always to have our income either equal or exceed our expenditure. My weekly tasks include banking the offering, liaising with the office administrator to manage invoices and maintaining all of our files required for independent examination. I manage the Christmas offerings given to charity – which charity to support is decided at a meeting of the Kirk Session - and submit our Gift Aid claim to HMRC.

Isobel

Church Administrator

I am Isobel, the church administrator. I am the first point of contact in the office or on the phone. I am always here to help with hiring a space in the church and I also make up the order of services and power point for the Sunday service with help from Karen. I have worked here since July 2022. I have a HNC in admin and IT and SVQ level 2 and 3 in childcare. I have worked as an administrator in different settings for the last 5 years and before that I worked in childcare for over 14 years, in both private nurseries and as a nanny. I live with my two school-aged children and my three cats.

Nicci

Cafe Manager

I'm Nicci, the manager of Butterflies Café. You'll find me in the kitchen baking cakes, making sandwiches, and supervising our team of amazing volunteers.
